{Guest Podcast} Simple Embodiment Practices + How to Root in the Body

Updated: Dec 28, 2022

Hey love,

While I was packing up after teaching my Dance it Out! class not so long ago a woman came to talk. She shared her pain in feeling so disconnected from herself and body and that she stopped getting her period for over a year.

And that after one class with me it came back.

She felt a complex mix of joy, confusion, spaciousness, relief and surprise. The surrender she felt in her body by slowing right down to feel and move, shifted something inside of her. The blood started flowing again. A new relationship with her body began and she didn't know where to start but she was determined by this experience.

She is not alone. This wasn't the first time I've heard this exact story from the women I work with. It makes me both grateful that these women have started a path back to body. Consciously. It also brings a connected sadness that this disconnect exists. But that's another story for another time.

So I reached out to my soul sister and dear friend Iris Josephina and told her I want to share and speak about these topics on her podcast The Planting Seeds Podcast. It was time for more of this in the world. And for me to share my voice in a bigger way.

And with the perfect synchronicity of the universe, Iris had been thinking about who she wanted to invite on her podcast and I was in her heart. We made it happen. I was invited to sit down with her to talk about rooting into the body and more on her podcast. You can have a listen here:

The topics we cover in this episode:

-disconnect with the body and the harm of living in a head/mind-based society

-using the body to process emotion, and coming to presence slowing down to feel -what body is communicating to you & how that supports emotional harmony

-what embodying/embodiment means

-2 x quick practices to bring into your life that help you tune in to your body immediately

More about Iris: She is a Holistic Cycle Guide and Hormonal Health Coach. She teaches people with menstrual cycles to live, work and lead according to the cyclical nature of their bodies so they can experience more flow, ease and harmony in life and business. You can find her here.

Enjoy. Please help me share it and let me know what you think - it was first podcast invite so I was super excited.

One Love,

Juel
