You Can’t Think Your Way Out of Bias

You can’t think your way out of bias — because your body reacts first. This session offers a direct experience of what happens under pressure, and introduces the capacity required to stay present instead of withdrawing, fixing, or shutting down.

About the Event

You Can’t Think Your Way Out of Bias

Why the Body Matters in Leadership, Power & Difference

A Free 75 Minute Somatic Webinar

Bias doesn’t begin in thought.

It begins in the body.

In the moments that matter most — when discomfort, difference, or power enter the space — the body responds first.

A tightening.

A pause.

An urge to explain, withdraw, fix, or stay silent.

And in those moments, we don’t act from our values.

We act from our capacity.

This session is an experiential introduction to a different way of working with bias, race, and power — one that begins in the nervous system, not the intellect.

You’ll be guided through simple somatic practices to:

  • Notice how your body responds under pressure

  • Recognize patterns of withdrawal, control, or collapse

  • Begin to understand what it actually takes to stay present

This is not a training in getting it right.

It’s not a debate.

And it’s not about quick solutions.

It’s a first step, a direct experience of what happens when things get uncomfortable, unclear, or charged.

Because that moment,

and your capacity within it,

shapes leadership, relationships, trust, and impact.

For BIPOC participants, this work speaks to reducing the unseen cost of staying present in spaces where others cannot.

For white-bodied participants, it offers a way to remain in contact without centering, collapsing, or withdrawing.

This session opens the doorway into Exploring the Veil, a deep somatic training in relational capacity, bias, and ethical presence and leadership.

What to Expect

  • A guided somatic practice (no experience needed)

  • Insight into how bias operates through the nervous system

  • A lived experience of your own responses under pressure

  • A clear sense of what deeper capacity-building requires

This is for you if:

  • You care about bias, race, or power — but feel stuck in how to engage

  • You’ve done cognitive or DEI work, but something still doesn’t shift

  • You lead, facilitate, teach, or hold space for others in any capacity

  • You want to respond and lead with more presence — not perfection

This is not about being a good person.

It’s about what your body does when it matters.
